IN THIS PODCAST

  • Roadmap for hope

INSECURITIES

When people are going through a divorce there is so much doubt, fear, anxiety, and sometimes even shame. All these insecurities are normal when going through this transition, and it’s important to not get trapped in this dark place.

HOPE

“Hopefulness has this life sustaining strength and it helps us so that we can create goals, we can come up with strategies and we can have the confidence to follow through.”

OPTIMISM

Optimism is important in motivating us to learn, grow, and keep going. When you do not have this optimism, you have learned helplessness or the ‘giving up response’.

YOUR MINDSET

“It takes a mindset of some persistence and believing that there are going to be some setbacks, but those setbacks are just inherent and they’re temporary. And they’re not so much about you, but the situation.”

I want to help you succeed and have you start thinking about goals and find ways to motivate yourself. In order for that to be achieved it takes a mindset of hope and optimism.

This, however, doesn’t mean that you won’t have a day where you are feeling negative, we all have setbacks, but when you’re going through a divorce, it’s helpful to pick yourself back up again and get back up on that bike.

ROADMAP FOR HOPE

  1. Accept that you’re imperfect
  2. Healing will take time
  3. There are opportunities for growth on this journey
  4. It’s important to have coping skills (self-compassion, self-care, grit, patience, frustration tolerance, humor, etc.)
  5. Develop your support system
